Position Overview

The Product Manager will play a critical role in bridging strategy and execution during a pivotal transition period for Micromentor. Over the next six months, this role will help align Micromentor’s Theory of Change and five-year strategic vision with the current product strategy, user experience story, and high-level features — transforming them into actionable roadmaps, detailed user stories and prioritization criteria. This work will enable engineering and design teams to execute with clarity and efficiency, while ensuring the product remains aligned with both user and stakeholder needs. This role will report to the Chief Product Officer and collaborate closely with the Technical Project Manager, Product Owner, engineering team, and key internal stakeholders representing client-facing needs. While starting off as a shorter term contract this role has the possibility of extension based on fit and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate strategic priorities into clear product roadmaps, user stories, and delivery milestones.

  • Establish prioritization frameworks to guide feature development and resource allocation.

  • Ensure product deliverables are aligned with KPIs and measurable outcomes from the Micromentor’s Market Strategy (1-3 years strategy)

  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between engineering, design, and stakeholder teams.

  • Document and maintain product requirements, workflows, and acceptance criteria.

  • Monitor execution progress and adjust plans to maintain alignment with strategic goals.

Key Deliverables

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Create a framework connecting Micromentor’s Theory of Change, audience and product strategy with company goals and quarterly KPIs.

  • Develop a quarter over quarter 12-month product roadmap including the prioritized initiatives, quarterly delivery milestones, and anticipated dependencies.

  • Provide regular progress reports and updates to leadership, tracking execution against strategic goals.

User Experience & Requirements

  • Create detailed user stories, PRDs, and specifications for priority features.

  • Maintain oversight and coordination of UX/UI design projects to ensure alignment with product goals.

  • Solicit and incorporate user insights and feedback on key feature upgrades (including consulting with the Micromentor Community Advisory Council)

Backlog & Execution Framework

  • Maintain and organize a product backlog, ready for engineering/design execution.

  • Implement a prioritization methodology (e.g., MoSCoW, RICE, or custom) to guide feature development and resource allocation.

  • Define and apply criteria for evaluating trade-offs between user value, partner needs, and business goals.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Product Manager or similar role, preferably within SaaS, marketplace, or mentoring platforms.

  • Strong skills in translating strategy into actionable product execution plans.

  • Experience with agile methodologies and product management tools.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
